Konya'yı 📖 Its Story
Cankurtaran is a neighbourhood of the Akşehir district of Konya, Türkiye. It lies about 10 km south of the district centre.
In older records the settlement appears as Hanyeri or Yörükhan (1951), Yörük Damları (1923); the present name Cankurtaran became established later. The name Hanyeri|Yörükhan is of Turkish origin. Yörük families settled here in a later period.

Yerleşimin adı, 1923 yılı kayıtlarında Yörük Damları olarak geçmektedir. Daha önceleri Engili köyüne bağlı Hanyeri (Yörükhan) obası iken, 13 Ağustos 1951'de köy statüsü kazandı. 2012 yılındaki yasa değişikliğinden sonra ise mahalle oldu. Konya il merkezine 150 km, Akşehir ilçe merkezine 13 km uzaklıktadır.
