Konya'yı 📖 Its Story
Gölyazı is a neighbourhood of the Cihanbeyli district of Konya, Türkiye. It lies about 14 km east of the district centre.
In older records the settlement appears as Xelko (2020), Dondurma or Xalikânlı (1926), Xalikanlı (1841); the present name Gölyazı became established later. The name Xalikanlı is of Kurdish origin, meaning "the name of an Oghuz tribe". It was earlier home to Sunni Kurdish communities; Kurdish (Hanafi Sunni) families settled here later.

Belde belediyesi olan Gölyazı yerleşimi, 6360 sayılı kanunla kapatılmış ve Büyükşehir yasasıyla mahalle statüsü almıştır. Gölyazı'nın komşuları Günyüzü 16 km ve Yapalı 18 km uzaklıktadır. Aksaray'ın Eskil ilçesi ile de komşu olan beldenin doğusunda da Tuz gölü yer alır.
