Konya'yı 📖 Its Story
Mecidiye is a neighbourhood of the Ilgın district of Konya, Türkiye. It lies about 7 km west of the district centre.
In older records the settlement appears as İlice (1926); the present name Mecidiye became established later. The name Mecidiye is of Turkish origin. Ahıska Turk families settled here in a later period.
Historic sites recorded nearby include Handevi ve Kandevi Türbesi (~5 km), Sahib Ata Vakıf Hamamı (~5 km).
