📖 Its Story

Hotamış is a neighbourhood of the Karapınar district of Konya, Türkiye. It lies about 22 km west of the district centre.

In older records the settlement appears as Şuğur (~1700); the present name Hotamış became established later. The name Şuğur is of Arabic, Turkish origin, meaning "sahipsiz yer". Turkmen families settled here in a later period.
