📖 Its Story

İsmil is a neighbourhood of the Karatay district of Konya, Türkiye. It lies about 47 km east of the district centre.

In older records the settlement appears as Demirkent (1968), Salmia (1101); the present name İsmil became established later. The name Salmia is of Anatolian languages origin. Turkmen families settled here in a later period.
