Mahalle, 1926 yılından beri aynı adı taşımaktadır. Daha önceleri İpekler köyüne bağlı bir mahalle iken, 12 Mart 1951'de yine aynı köye bağlı bir mahalle olan Hanyaylaları ile birleşerek köy statüsü kazandı.
