📖 Its Story
Soğukkuyu is a neighbourhood of the Kulu district of Konya, Türkiye. It lies about 21 km northwest of the district centre.
In older records the settlement appears as Bîrê Şexo (2020), Evliya Çeşmesi (1928); the present name Soğukkuyu became established later. The name Bîrê Şexo is of Kurdish origin, meaning "şeyh kuyusu". Records associate the settlement with Sunni Kurdish communities.
Historic sites recorded nearby include Çevre Kale (~5 km).
