📖 Its Story

Kızılören is a neighbourhood of the Meram district of Konya, Türkiye. It lies about 33 km west of the district centre.

In older records the settlement appears as Kızılviran (1926); the present name Kızılören became established later. The name Kızılviran is of Turkish origin.

Historic sites recorded nearby include Kızılören Kandemir Hanı (~1 km), Küçük Kızılören Hanı (~2 km).

Köyün asıl ismi Kızılviran'dır. Bu adı, toprağının kızıl olmasından dolayı alır. Kızılören Anadolu Selçuklu Devleti zamanında bir ticaret merkeziydi. Çevresinde birçok han ve önemli yerleşim birimleri bulunur. Son dönemde et lokantaları ile Konya'da bir turistik yerdir.
