📖 Its Story
Başarakavak is a neighbourhood of the Selçuklu district of Konya, Türkiye. It lies about 27 km west of the district centre.
In older records the settlement appears as Başara Kavağı (1926); the present name Başarakavak became established later. Turkmen families settled here in a later period.
Historic sites recorded nearby include Başarakavak Hanı (~1 km).

Başarakavak. Konya-Beyşehir karayolundan 17 km içeride olan Selçuklu ilçesine bağlı fasulyesiyle meşhur kasaba. Köy ismin Selçuklu emirlerinden Beşare Bey'den alır.Tarihçi Prof.Dr Faruk Sümer ismin tarihi hakkında"Arapçadaki Beşaret (Müjde) kelimesi erkek adı olarak kullanılırsa "t" okunmaz. Köy halkıda beşare kelimesini zamanla başara olarak yapmış olabilir" der.
