Biçer Neighbourhood

📖 Its Story

Biçer is a neighbourhood of the Selçuklu district of Konya, Türkiye. It lies about 33 km north of the district centre.

In older records the settlement appears as By. Mezarburnu (1912); the present name Biçer became established later. The name By. Mezarburnu is of Turkish origin. Turkmen families settled here in a later period.

Historic sites recorded nearby include Beçene Höyük (~3 km), Meydan Tren İstasyonu (~4 km), Akdoğan Höyük (~4 km).

Mahalle, 1912 yılı kayıtlarında Büyük Mezarburnu adıyla geçmekte olup, 1926 yılından beri aynı adı taşımaktadır. 6 Nisan 1946'da Tömek bucağına bağlı Peçene Yaylası olarak geçen yerleşim, bu tarihte Biçer adıyla köy statüsü kazandı. 2012 yılındaki yasa değişikliğinden sonra ise mahalle oldu.
