📖 Its Story

Dokuz is a neighbourhood of the Selçuklu district of Konya, Türkiye. It lies about 14 km north of the district centre.

In older records the settlement appears as Dokuz or Şadiye (1926), Dokuzhan (1912); the present name Dokuz became established later. The name Dokuzhan is of Turkish origin. Records associate the settlement with Tatar or Nogai communities.

Historic sites recorded nearby include Şadiye Köprüsü, Dokuzun Hanı.
