Meram Vineyards
A centuries-old riverside recreation area with willows, mills and Konya cuisine.
📖 The Story
The summer retreat of Konya's people since Ottoman times, Meram is famed for its streamside willows, historic watermills and vineyard houses. With traditional restaurants serving etli ekmek and oven kebab, it is a gastronomic stop. Meram Pavilion and the surrounding trails make it ideal for a weekend escape.
These are the orchards sung of in Konya's folk songs; the shade of century-old planes along the stream runs a few degrees cooler than the city in summer. Stringing the 1424 bath, the five-arched Seljuk bridge and Tavus Baba's shrine into one walk is Meram's classic half-day route.
