📖 Its Story
Alanyurt is a neighbourhood of the Akşehir district of Konya, Türkiye. It lies about 6 km north of the district centre.
In older records the settlement appears as Maruf (1928), Marıflı (1912); the present name Alanyurt became established later. The name Marıflı is of Turkish origin, meaning "marif mektebi olan". It was earlier home to Circassian/Chechen communities; Turkish families settled here later.
Historic sites recorded nearby include Hacı İbrahim Veli Sultan Türbesi, Akşehir Tren İstasyonu (~5 km).
