📖 Its Story
Bayavşar is a neighbourhood of the Beyşehir district of Konya, Türkiye. It lies about 14 km southeast of the district centre.
In older records the settlement appears as Afşar (1912); the present name Bayavşar became established later. The name Bayavşar is of Turkish origin, meaning "the name of an Oghuz tribe". Turkmen families settled here in a later period.
Historic sites recorded nearby include Bayafşar Camii (~1 km), Evreği II Höyüğü (~3 km).
