Konya'yı 📖 Its Story
Günyüzü is a neighbourhood of the Cihanbeyli district of Konya, Türkiye. It lies about 19 km south of the district centre.
In older records the settlement appears as Kethüda Cudkanlı (1928), Güdkânlı (1910); the present name Günyüzü became established later. The name Kethüda Cudkanlı is of Kurdish origin, meaning "the name of an Oghuz tribe". It was earlier home to Sunni Kurdish communities; Kurdish (Hanafi Sunni) families settled here later.
