📖 Its Story
Çakmak is a neighbourhood of the Ereğli district of Konya, Türkiye. It lies about 23 km northeast of the district centre.
In older records the settlement appears as Cedidiye (1946), Çayhan İstasyonu (1926); the present name Çakmak became established later. The name Cedidiye is of Turkish origin, meaning "yeniyer".
Historic sites recorded nearby include Çakmak Tren İstasyonu (~2 km).
