Konya'yı 📖 Its Story
Hortu is a neighbourhood of the Ereğli district of Konya, Türkiye. It lies about 15 km northwest of the district centre.
In older records the settlement appears as Sazgeçit (1968), Xortu (1926), Xorti Hanı (1723); the present name Hortu became established later. The name Xortu is of Greek origin, meaning "otlak, mera". Records associate the settlement with Turkmen communities.
