Konya'yı 📖 Its Story
Kesecik is a neighbourhood of the Seydişehir district of Konya, Türkiye. It lies about 9 km east of the district centre.
In older records the settlement appears as Kilisecik (1912), Kenisacık (1831); the present name Kesecik became established later. The name Kilisecik is of Turkish origin.
Historic sites recorded nearby include Kesecik Höyük (~2 km), Gökhöyük Bağları Höyük (~3 km), Bağra Höyük (~4 km).

Richard Kiepert ve Karte Von Kleinasien isimli iki Alman haritacının 1912'de yayınladıkları Türkiye haritasında köyün ismi Kilisecik olarak geçmekte olup halk arasında "Kisecik" olarak anılmaktadır. Osmanlı tahrir defterlerine göre de köyün eski adı Kilisecik'tir. Köyde küçük bir kilise bulunması nedeniyle bu ismin verildiği düşünülmektedir.
