📖 Its Story

Çayırbaşı is a neighbourhood of the Yunak district of Konya, Türkiye. It lies about 43 km east of the district centre.

In older records the settlement appears as Çayırbaşı Yaylası (1954), Beşışıklı Yaylası (1926); the present name Çayırbaşı became established later. It was earlier home to Sunni Kurdish communities; Kurdish (Hanafi Sunni) families settled here later.

Yerleşimin adı, 1926 yılı kayıtlarında Beşışıklı Yaylası olarak geçmektedir. Daha önceleri Beşışıklı köyüne bağlı Çayırbaşı yaylası iken, 14 Temmuz 1954'te köy statüsü kazandı. 2012 yılındaki yasa değişikliğinden sonra ise mahalle oldu. Konya il merkezine 150 km, Yunak ilçe merkezine 53 km uzaklıktadır.
