Konya'yı 📖 Its Story
Yeşilköy is a neighbourhood of the Akşehir district of Konya, Türkiye. It lies about 17 km east of the district centre.
In older records the settlement appears as Eser-i Hamid (1928), Yılanyusuf (1900); the present name Yeşilköy became established later. The name Yılanyusuf is of Turkish origin. It was earlier home to Circassian/Chechen communities; Turkish immigrant from Bulgaria families settled here later.
Historic sites recorded nearby include Yılan Yusuf Köprüsü.
