📖 Its Story

İçeriçumra is a neighbourhood of the Çumra district of Konya, Türkiye. It lies about 14 km west of the district centre.

In older records the settlement appears as Sahra (1584), Çumra (1476); the present name İçeriçumra became established later.

Historic sites recorded nearby include Sakarlar Höyük, Karamanoğlu İbrahimbey Camii (~3 km), Afşarören Hanı (~5 km).

Mahallenin adı, 1476 yılı kayıtlarında Çumra olarak geçmektedir. Çumra ilçesine adını veren ilk yerleşim burasıdır.2012 yılındaki yasa değişikliğinden sonra mahalle oldu. Mahalle, doğusundan Çumra ilçe merkezi, batısından Abaz Dağı, güneyinden Alibeyhüyüğü, kuzeyinden Meram'a bağlı Kaşınhanı ve Karatay ilçe merkezi, kuzeydoğusundan Fethiye, kuzeybatısından Meram'a bağlı Çarıklar ile çevrilmiştir.
