Argıthanı’nın tarihi özellikle Anadolu Selçuklu dönemine kadar uzanır. Bölge, Selçuklu döneminde önemli bir ticaret ve konaklama merkeziydi. Konya-Akşehir hattı üzerinde yer aldığı için kervan yollarının önemli duraklarından biri haline gelmiştir Mahalle, Konya il merkezine 102 km, Ilgın ilçe merkezine 18 km uzaklıktadır.
