Boğazkent Neighbourhood

📖 Its Story

Boğazkent is a neighbourhood of the Ilgın district of Konya, Türkiye. It lies about 12 km northwest of the district centre.

In older records the settlement appears as Reşadiye (1928), Tokmak Bayırı (1926); the present name Boğazkent became established later. The name Reşadiye is of Turkish origin, meaning "(sultan) Reşat yeri". It was earlier home to Balkan immigrant communities; Turkish immigrant from Bulgaria families settled here later.

Köy 1907 tarihinde kurulmuştur. Köy çeşme bayırı olarak adlandırılan ufak bir dağın yamacına kurulmuştur. Köyün ana cadde ile bağlantısını sağlayan 6 km'lik yol boyunca ak bayır ve tokmak isimli iki tepe köyün etrafında bulunur. Köy kurulum yeri düzlüktür ancak etrafı engebeli araziyle kaplıdır. Köyün hemen yanından geçen bir çay bulunmaktadır. Köyün iklimi, karasal iklim'in etki alanı içerisindedir.
