Konya'yı 📖 Its Story
Mahmuthisar is a neighbourhood of the Ilgın district of Konya, Türkiye. It lies about 14 km southeast of the district centre.
In older records the settlement appears as Mahmudözü (1926), Mahmudhisarı (1856); the present name Mahmuthisar became established later. The name Mahmudhisarı is of Turkish origin. Turkmen families settled here in a later period.
Historic sites recorded nearby include Şeyh Halit Türbesi (~2 km), Sungur Bey Türbesi (~3 km), Dediği Sultan Mescid ve Tekkesi (~3 km).
