📖 Its Story
Ortakaraören is a neighbourhood of the Seydişehir district of Konya, Türkiye. It lies about 20 km east of the district centre.
In older records the settlement appears as Orta Karaviran (1912); the present name Ortakaraören became established later. The name Orta Karaviran is of Turkish origin.
Historic sites recorded nearby include Ortakaraviran Höyük II (~2 km).

6360 sayılı kanun 12 Kasım 2012'de çıkmadan önce Cumhuriyet, Çomaklar, İğdiş, Köyiçi ve Tatlısu-Oymak adlarında 5 ayrı mahalleden oluşmaktaydı. 1965 nüfus sayımına göre Ortakaraören'de yaşayanların sayısı 3.688 olup bu nüfusun içinde 1.237 kişi okuma yazma bilmekteydi. 1965 yılından önce yapılan nüfus sayımlarında Ortakaraviran adıyla çıkmaktadır. Ayrıca 1912 tarihli Kiepert haritasında adı Ortakaraviran'dır.
