Erdoğdu Neighbourhood

📖 Its Story

Erdoğdu is a neighbourhood of the Tuzlukçu district of Konya, Türkiye. It lies about 10 km south of the district centre.

The name Erdoğdu is of Turkish origin. It was earlier home to Tatar or Nogai communities; Turkish immigrant from Bulgaria families settled here later.

Historic sites recorded nearby include Gözpınarı Tren İstasyonu (~5 km).

1893-1895 yıllarında Köstence'den (Danaköy'den) gelen Nogay ve Kırım'dan gelen Tatarlar tarafından otuz kırk hane olarak köyün bugünkü bulunduğu yerden bir iki km kuzeyinde Avcıali (Avcal) denilen yerde kurulmuştur. Daha sonra 1910 yıllarda Bulgaristanın Osmanpazarı ilçesinin çeşitli köylerinden (özellikle kovancılar köyünden) gelen Bulgaristan Türkleri köyün bugünkü bulunduğu yere yerleşilmiştir.
