Mevlâna Lodge & Museum
The world-famous green-domed Sufi shrine housing the tomb of Mevlâna Jalāl ad-Dīn Rūmī.
📖 The Story
Built on a former Seljuk garden, the lodge holds the tomb of the great 13th-century mystic and poet Mevlâna Rūmī. Its emblematic turquoise-tiled dome, the 'Green Dome', is the symbol of Konya. With its semâ hall, dervish cells, illuminated Qur'ans and historic carpets, it welcomes millions of visitors each year. Rūmī's call 'Come, whoever you are' still gathers people of every faith here.
The lodge has been a museum since 1926; the courtyard fountain and the re-created dervish cells carry Mevlevi daily life into the present. Every 7–17 December, the Sheb-i Arus ceremonies gather tens of thousands from around the world in Konya.
