📖 The Story

Begun by the future Selim II while governor of Konya and finished in 1570, the mosque became the city's classical Ottoman face right beside the Mevlana shrine. Its two slender minarets and lead dome complete the square's skyline; the prayer hall's simplicity balances the fervour of the lodge next door.
